|
| What is the difference between the free version and the version with subscription? |
| There are two main differences: (a) with the free version, there is a limit to the number of data rows that can be displayed
at any one time. At present, the free version allows up to 100 rows of data to be shown in graphs. Since high speed data is typically
collected at 10 m intervals, this means you can view the condition of up to 1 Km of road with the free version. (b) The Trend and Historical views, which
shows the changes over time for a specific data type, is NOT available with the free version of JunoViewer.
Apart from these two aspects, there are no differences. Thus if you are working with short projects that have
lengths of less than 1 Km, you can view your data on the Google Map, in the linear graph, stripmap etc, without having to subscribe to JunoViewer. |

| What types of data do I need for JunoViewer? |
| To use JunoViewer effectively, you will as a minimum need to prepare and import a table that contains the details (road ID, start and end
location, etc) of all the road links on your network or project. You can then import rutting, roughness, FWD, texture and skid resistance data. You do not need to
import all of these data types, but obviously you will only be able to analyze what you import. If you want to use the Google map feature, you will also need to
import the GPS data for each road link (typically, this will require that you import the Road ID, longitude, latitude and location (metre) at 10 metre intervals for
each road section) |
|
| My data is already in a database - can I use this data in JunoViewer? |
| Yes, but you will have to do some exporting and importing of data first. JunoViewer uses an easy-to-understand,
flat-table database in Microsoft Access 2003 format. The database is not protected or hidden. Thus if you are knowledgeable in Access, you can use
the Access data import features to import data from your existing database into your JunoViewer database. This step is not automated in JunoViewer
so you will have to work in Access to get your data into the right format. |
| If your data can be exported to Excel or to a comma-delimited text file, then you can use the data import functions
of JunoViewer to import your data into your JunoViewer database. |
|
| Can I use JunoViewer in the field where I do not have an internet connection? |
| Yes, JunoViewer was designed for use by engineers and field personel who work intimately with condition data
in the field. However, if you do not have an internet connection, you will not be able to use the Google Map and Google Streetview features.
Apart from this, you can use all the JunoViewer features whithout an internet connection. |
|
| Can I put my JunoViewer databases on a server where more than one user can access the data? |
| Yes. However, you should note that JunoViewer was designed to operate with a portable database for use in the field.
If you put your prepared JunoViewer database on a central server where more than one user will access it at the same time, then the performance will
not be as good as when you have the database on the same machine as your JunoViewer installation. The use of a central, server based database is
normally not a problem for five or less users accessing the data. However, if your implementation requires a central database that will be available
to more than 20 users with frequent data updating, then JunoViewer is NOT the ideal solution. |
|
| I want to subscribe to JunoViewer - how does the subscription work? |
| Subscription is on an annual basis, and the cost is dependent on the subscription type (Project or Network).
A subscription is generated for a specific computer, and the user will then be able to use JunoViewer on that computer for one year. Once the
subscription expires, you will no longer be able to use the full feature set on that computer. However, your JunoViewer will still work and your
data will remain intact. For more information and costs, see the sidebar on the Main Features page |
|
| What if I subscribed but my computer needs to be replaced? |
| No problem. Simple contact us and ask that your subscription be moved to another computer. We will delete
your old subscription on our server and issue a new subsctiption (with the same expiry date as before). There is no cost involved in moving a
subscription from one machine to another. |
